Campion School started in 1965 as an all boys' school became a co-ed school in 2002 (?).Initially started and managed by the Bombay Province of the Society of Jesus it was in year !990 (?) that the management was transferred to the Province of MP & Chattisgarh.
In 1979, the Bombay Jesuit Province handed over the administration of Campion School Society to the Ranchi Province. With Madhya Pradesh becoming an independent Province, Ranchi handed over Campion to the Madhya Pradesh Jesuits.
The Poor Sisters of Our Lady (PSOL), had been co-workers with the Jesuits from the year 1974, decided to have their own independent School, St Mary's' School, at Seva Sadan in 1982. The M.P. Jesuits then invited the Sisters of the Mercy of the Holy Cross to work with them in the Primary Campion School which continue to do since 1982.
In 1993, the School switched over from the M.P. Board of Secondary Education to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) the first school to do so in Bhopal..
Fr. Alphonse Tirkey, S.J., the former Principal, started a Hindi Medium co-ed section of the School for the economically weaker sections of the society.
In 2008 the Bairagarh branch of Campion School was formally started with Fr. Zacharius as the head
